Activity Overview
This educational initiative, Cases and Conversations: Integrating Novel Approaches to Treatment in First-Line ALK+ mNSCLC—Enhancing Patient Outcomes With Real-World Multidisciplinary Strategies, is designed to equip medical oncologists, thoracic surgeons, pathologists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists, and other health care professionals with the knowledge and skills needed to optimize patient outcomes. The program will focus on the importance of molecular testing in guiding treatment decisions, the integration of multidisciplinary care approaches, and the application of novel first-line therapies including local consolidative therapy (LCT) with systemic treatments.
Through case-based discussions and real-world scenarios, learners can explore best practices for identifying patient characteristics that influence treatment selection, managing treatment-related adverse events (TRAEs), and implementing evidence-based treatment sequencing strategies for patients with tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI)–naive anaplastic lymphoma kinase–positive (ALK+) metastatic non–small cell lung cancer (mNSCLC). This activity is designed to empower health care professionals to apply emerging clinical evidence in their practice, thereby enhancing the quality of care for patients with ALK+ mNSCLC.
This educational activity is an archive of the live symposium held on November 16, 2024.
Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward physicians, pathologists, advanced practice professionals, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care practitioners interested in NSCLC.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Interpret molecular testing results accurately to guide the selection of targeted therapies in the first-line setting.
- Identify key patient characteristics, including comorbidities, disease stage, and molecular profiles, that influence treatment decisions in ALK+ mNSCLC.
- Apply evidence-based guidelines to select appropriate first-line therapies based on individual patient characteristics.
- Evaluate clinical evidence supporting the use of LCT in combination with chemotherapy for ALK+ mNSCLC.
