Lunch and Registration: 11:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Program: 11:30 AM – 12:30 PM

Overview

Progressive fibrosing-interstitial lung disease (PF-ILD) is a serious pulmonary disorder that can impact affected patients with significant morbidity and mortality. Diagnosis of PF-ILD is generally complicated because there are more than 100 forms of ILD described. Clinicians must be able to delineate the pathophysiologic mechanisms behind the various forms of PF-ILD, and identify associated pathological fibrosis patterns to promote earlier diagnosis for prompt intervention. Active collaboration with patients to address therapeutic options for these disorders includes potential enrollment in clinical trials for emerging therapies. With an ever-changing landscape for management of PF-ILDs, it is critical that clinicians be educated on all aspects of these disorders, including new pathways to improving patient management and optimizing overall outcomes. This interactive symposium is specifically designed to inform radiologists on early recognition, differential and accurate diagnosis, as well as the new and emerging treatments for patients with PF-ILDs.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:

  • Identify key mechanisms underlying the various forms, clinical presentation, and management of PF-ILD
  • Interpret radiographic patterns on high-resolution computed tomography to differentially diagnose ILDs, including idiopathic PF
  • Improve ability to diagnose and differentiate PF-ILD earlier in the course of disease to allow more prompt intervention
  • Discuss current and emerging treatments for management of the various forms of PF-ILD and their potential use in clinical practice

Target Audience

This educational program is directed toward all attendees of the American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) Annual Meeting, including radiologists.
