Activity Overview

Thyroid eye disease (TED), a rare autoimmune condition, affects approximately 1.9 individuals per 10,000 annually, with an estimated 33,000 cases in the United States. TED can be sight-threatening, debilitating, and disfiguring, severely impacting patients’ quality of life and daily functioning. Early signs of TED are often subtle and can be misinterpreted, leading to delays in diagnosis and treatment.

Traditional management approaches for TED have centered on immunomodulatory therapy and surgical interventions. In January 2020, the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved teprotumumab, the first therapy specifically indicated for TED. As treatment options evolve, there is an increasing need for a patient-centered, multidisciplinary approach, which is essential to address individual patient needs throughout the disease course. This CE program, held during the 2025 EnVision Summit, will review clinical data and current recommendations in TED care to bring clinicians up to date on the multidisciplinary approach to the care of these patients.
