Activity Overview
This SimulatEd™ program is an online, on-demand activity designed to enhance clinical reasoning for healthcare providers involved in the treatment of Alzheimer disease. It consists of simulated patient encounters. As the cases evolve, learners will be prompted to make clinical decisions and review updates on new data and best practices from expert faculty, fostering critical thinking and decision-making skills in a risk-free setting. The focus of these activities is on 2 individuals being evaluated for potential treatment of Alzheimer disease and guiding them through the role of genetic testing in their treatment journey.
Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward geriatricians, neurologists, geriatric psychiatrists, dementia specialists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other healthcare providers who may aid in the management of Alzheimer disease.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Identify the role of genetic testing in the evaluation of patients with suspected Alzheimer disease
- Outline the role of genetic testing in patient selection for therapy for Alzheimer disease
- Integrate genetic testing into management plans for patients with Alzheimer disease
