Activity Overview
Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is a highly aggressive malignancy. It accounts for less than 20% of lung cancers but contributes disproportionately to lung cancer–related mortality. Prognosis is particularly poor for patients who develop extensive-stage (ES-)SCLC. Recent regulatory approvals and practice-changing data are redefining the ES-SCLC treatment landscape and raising new considerations for selecting therapy and optimally incorporating emerging agents into practice.
Show Me the Data®: Redefining Extensive-Stage SCLC—Emerging Therapies, CNS Considerations, and the Radiation Oncologist’s Evolving Role was held in conjunction with the 2026 American Society for Radiation Oncology Annual Meeting. It features a panel of radiation oncology and medical oncology specialists who will review recent developments and highlight practical strategies to incorporate systemic therapies and radiation therapy to optimize outcomes for patients with ES-SCLC.
This educational activity is an archive of the live presentation held on September 28, 2026.
Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward radiation oncologists, medical oncologists, and the multidisciplinary team—including nurse practitioners, physician assistants, oncology nurses, and pharmacists—involved in the management of patients with ES-SCLC, including those with brain metastases.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Evaluate emerging systemic therapies for extensive-stage SCLC across lines of treatment
- Apply evidence for the intracranial activity of emerging systemic agents to individualize treatment in extensive-stage SCLC
- Differentiate and co-manage treatment-related adverse events associated with novel therapies for extensive-stage SCLC
