Activity Overview
Over the past decade, the treatment of biliary tract cancers (BTCs) has been fundamentally altered with the introduction of effective targeted and immunologic therapy approaches. Optimal treatment selection now depends on careful evaluation of various molecular alterations that may be present in individual cases.
This podcast features a discussion of adverse event (AE) profiles associated with different treatment approaches for metastatic, HER2-positive BTC. Led by Rohit Gosain, MD; and Rahul Gosain, MD; this clinical conversation features a faculty expert in evaluating and treating these cancers.
Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward US and global community medical oncologists, pathologists, oncology nurses, nurse practitioners, and advanced practice providers who manage patients with GEA and BTC.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Review the common and severe adverse events observed with HER2-targeted agents and understand how patient-specific factors and prior therapies influence AE profiles in patients with BTC
- Apply clinical trial–informed approaches to AE monitoring and management, including premedication protocols, dose modifications, and multidisciplinary team coordination to optimize patient outcomes and adherence to HER2-targeted therapies
