Activity Overview
The PER Postgame™ is an online, on-demand video program that brings together renowned experts in the treatment of IgA nephropathy (IgAN). In this educational program, these experts review the screening and diagnosis of IgAN utilizing a multidisciplinary approach and delve into current and emerging therapies that have been developed based on advancements in knowledge regarding the pathogenesis of IgAN. A case study will be presented, allowing the experts to share their perspectives on treatment and best practices.
Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward nephrology nurses. Nephrologists and other HCPs involved in the management of patients with IgAN will also find it useful.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Discuss the most recent updates on the pathophysiology and pathogenesis of IgAN
- Apply strategies to evaluate patients with IgAN
- Analyze recent efficacy and safety trial data on new and emerging treatments for IgAN
- Summarize guideline recommendations for the individualized treatment of patients with IgAN
Editor's Note:
On August 27, 2025, the FDA modified the Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS) program for the use of sparsentan in the treatment of IgA nephropathy due to the risk of hepatotoxicity. The update reduces the frequency of liver function monitoring to every 3 months from the onset of treatment with sparsentan and removes the embryo-fetal toxicity (EFT) monitoring requirement from the REMS.
