Patient, Provider, and Caregiver Connection™: Pediatric Myasthenia Gravis - Current Treatment and Emerging Concepts

Overview:

Variations in clinical presentation of gMG, especially in children can lead to delays in diagnosis or misdiagnosis which results in inadequate or inappropriate treatment which negatively impacts patient outcomes. Furthermore, challenges in pediatric gMG management include that clinical guidelines for use of pharmacological agents in pediatric gMG are not well-established. The good news is that recent insights have led to the investigation of targeted agents in pediatric patients with gMG.

This live symposium, designed specifically for attendees at the 2024 CNS meeting, will feature expert faculty sharing the state-of-the art on diagnosis and management in children and adolescents with gMG. It will also include video clips of a child with gMG and their caregiver sharing their insights to highlight key messages and enhance learning.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

• Select the signs and symptoms associated with pediatric gMG
• Develop management plans for pediatric patients with gMG based on patient-specific factors and considerations
• Summarize clinical trial data for emerging treatments aimed at targeting the underlying disease mechanisms associated with pediatric gMG
