Activity Overview

Management of gastrointestinal (GI) cancers is rapidly evolving with a growing number of available treatment options. Appropriate treatment strategies should be carefully considered in the context of emerging clinical trial data to optimize patient outcomes.

This activity will update oncology health care professionals on the most recent data from key abstracts focusing on GI cancers that were presented at the 2022 European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) Congress, held in Paris, France, in September 2022. By placing the data in clinical context, oncology practitioners can assess and apply these findings to their clinical practice and ultimately improve care for their patients with GI malignancies.

Target Audience

This educational activity is directed toward medical oncologists, surgical oncologists, and other health care professionals who treat GI cancers.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:

  • Detail the clinical study designs, patient characteristics, and end points of recently completed and ongoing investigations focused on novel approaches for the treatment of patients with gastrointestinal (GI) cancers
  • Discuss efficacy and safety outcomes from recent studies that assessed novel strategies for the treatment of GI malignancies
  • Place recent clinical trial results in the context of evolving paradigms in the field of GI malignancies’ management
