Activity Overview

This online activity provides an overview of the clinical management of soft tissue sarcoma (STS) for oncology health care professionals who participate in the multidisciplinary treatment of patients with STS. Given the rarity, genomic complexity, and heterogeneity of STS, understanding actionable tumor characteristics that inform clinical decision-making along with the advent of new treatments and new data on established agents is essential for practicing clinicians to keep pace with the trend toward individualized medicine in this setting. Expanding therapeutic options, including new targeted therapies, should be carefully considered in determining treatment approaches to optimize patient outcomes. The engaging, multimedia format of this program includes audio commentary and insight from 2 expert thought leaders integrated with text-based elements.

Target Audience

This educational program is directed toward medical, surgical, and radiation oncologists and nurses interested in the treatment and management of soft tissue sarcoma. Other health care professionals involved in the treatment and management of patients with soft tissue sarcoma are invited to participate.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:

  • Summarize best practices to facilitate communication among sarcoma specialists to optimize diagnosis and management of soft tissue sarcoma
  • Cite relevant clinical evidence regarding multidisciplinary care in the management of patients with soft tissue sarcoma
  • Evaluate how heterogeneity in patients with soft tissue sarcoma impacts clinical decision-making
