Release Date: April 20, 2022
Expiration Date: April 20, 2023
Activity Overview
This online, on-demand, virtual symposium brings together renowned experts in the management of early-stage, hormone receptor–positive/HER2-negative (HR+/HER2-) breast cancer. This multidisciplinary panel of experts engages in a case-based discussion regarding the personalization of adjuvant therapy for these patients, particularly those with high-risk disease. Topics include clinical and molecular factors for risk assessment, recent clinical data with endocrine regimens integrating CDK4/6 inhibitors, and management of adverse events associated with new agents.
This educational activity is an archive of the live symposium held on April 9, 2022.
Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward medical oncologists and surgical oncologists who are involved in the management of breast cancer. Other allied health care professionals interested in the management of breast cancer are invited to participate.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Evaluate the utility of clinical characteristics, biomarkers, and genomic assays to assess recurrence risk in patients with early-stage, HR+/HER2- breast cancer to identify high-risk patients who may benefit from escalated adjuvant endocrine strategies
- Explain evidence from clinical trials evaluating CDK4/6 inhibitors in the adjuvant setting for patients with high-risk, early-stage, HR+/HER2- breast cancer
- Discuss the contribution of surgeons to the shared decision-making process between patients with breast cancer and their multidisciplinary care team with regard to adjuvant therapy options
- Develop strategies for preventing or managing adverse events associated with escalated adjuvant endocrine therapies for patients with high-risk, early-stage, HR+/HER2- breast cancer, including regimens that incorporate CDK4/6 inhibitors
