Overview:
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease that occurs most frequently in children but also affects adults. AD is often associated with an elevated serum level of immunoglobulin E (IgE) and a personal or family history of atopy, which describes a group of disorders that includes eczema, asthma, and allergic rhinitis. Following a diagnosis of AD, disease severity must be assessed to determine an appropriate treatment plan. Traditional AD therapies include steroids, antihistamines and emollients, but biologics are changing this teaching for patients with moderate-to-severe AD.
This continuing education activity will help familiarize healthcare providers (HCPs) with the process and tools needed for assessing the severity of AD. In addition, HCPs will learn about the latest clinical evidence for available and emerging biologic therapies which have the potential to improve outcomes for patients with moderate-to-severe AD.

- Create a treatment plan for a patient with moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis who is eligible for systemic therapy
