Expiration Date: February 4, 2027
Activity Overview
Despite increasing awareness and new therapeutic options, malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) remains difficult to diagnose and manage. Nonspecific symptoms, imaging overlap, and variable biopsy yield contribute to delayed identification, while evolving immunotherapy (IO)-based strategies require thoughtful patient selection and coordinated multidisciplinary care.
This webcast immerses learners in an interactive case that simulates real diagnostic challenges, followed by a discussion that translates findings into practical management. Expert faculty highlight how to streamline diagnostic workflows, apply current first-line IO-IO and IO-chemotherapy options, and anticipate emerging approaches, including bispecific antibodies. The program equips clinicians with concise, actionable strategies to improve timely diagnosis and evidence-based treatment of MPM.
Target Audience
This educational activity is directed toward medical oncologists, pulmonologists, advanced practice providers, nurses, pharmacists, and other health care practitioners who manage patients with mesothelioma.
Learning Objectives
Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:
- Apply a structured algorithm for patient evaluation, including selection of appropriate immunohistochemistry/ancillary tests, to accurately diagnose malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM)
- Evaluate new evidence supporting frontline options and emerging therapies for MPM
- Integrate the latest data into personalized treatment plans based on patient characteristics
- Describe roles of the multidisciplinary care team in the collaborative management of MPM
