Activity Overview
Tardive dyskinesia (TD), a neurological disorder characterized by involuntary movement, is commonly associated with exposure to antipsychotic medication. TD can have significant impacts on a patient’s quality of life due to functional challenges and social stigmatization. Comprehensive assessment of TD burden and severity is needed to guide treatment decisions and optimize outcomes.
This Community Practice Connection™ program provides an in-depth review of some of the key highlights at the Southern California Psychiatry Conference, held in September 2024. This unique and engaging multi-media activity is ideal for the community-based health care professional and focuses on the practical aspects of diagnosis and treatment of TD. The program is designed for those who did not attend the live meeting and to help reinforce learnings for those who did.
Target Audience
This educational curriculum is directed toward psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, neuropsychiatrists, neurologists, primary care practitioners, physician assistants, registered nurses, pharmacists, and other health care providers involved in the management of patients with TD.
