Overview:

Castleman disease (CD) is a rare group of lymphoproliferative disorders that can be difficult to recognize and classify due to symptoms that overlap with lymphoma, autoimmune diseases, and infections. As a result, diagnostic delays are common, and uncertainty remains regarding optimal treatment selection, particularly for multicentric forms of the disease.

This Cases and Conversations virtual webcast will use interactive patient cases and expert discussion to address key challenges in the diagnosis and management of CD. Faculty will review current evidence and guideline-based approaches for unicentric CD, HHV-8–associated multicentric CD, and idiopathic multicentric CD, with the goal of improving clinician confidence and patient care.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Recognize the clinical, laboratory, and pathologic features that should prompt consideration of CD
  • Differentiate unicentric CD from multicentric subtypes, including HHV-8–associated and iMCD, using appropriate diagnostic testing and clinical context
  • Apply evidence-based and guideline-recommended treatment strategies for CD based on subtype, severity, and response to initial therapy

      Target Audience:

This educational activity is directed toward physicians, hematologists, pathologists, dermatologists, nurses, NPs/PAs, pharmacists, and other HCPs involved in the diagnosis and treatment of hematological disorders.
