Overview:
Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) remains a highly aggressive neuroendocrine carcinoma, comprising approximately 15% of all lung cancer cases. Despite advancements in treatment, outcomes remain poor, particularly for patients with extensive-stage disease, where median survival is often less than one year. Historically considered a homogeneous disease, recent molecular research has identified distinct subtypes with potential therapeutic implications, sparking interest in biomarker-driven treatment strategies. The integration of immunotherapy, targeted agents, and novel combination therapies is reshaping the SCLC treatment landscape, necessitating continued clinician education to optimize patient care.
To address this critical need, Cases & Conversations™: Expert Perspectives on Leveraging Recent Advances to Transform SCLC Treatment will be presented as a hybrid live satellite symposium during the 2025 IASLC Hot Topics in Basic and Translational Science: Small Cell Lung Cancer meeting in New York, NY. This interactive session will feature expert-led discussions, case-based learning, and a review of pivotal clinical trial data. By fostering a multidisciplinary dialogue, this program aims to equip healthcare professionals with the latest evidence-based strategies for integrating emerging therapies into routine clinical practice, ultimately improving outcomes for patients with SCLC.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Evaluate current and emerging clinical trial data on novel therapeutic strategies for the management of SCLC .
- Develop proactive approaches to anticipate, mitigate, and manage treatment-related adverse events in patients receiving SCLC therapy.
- Integrate evidence from clinical trials into real-world practice to optimize the use of SCLC treatments across different lines of care.
