Activity Overview

This Burst Expert Illustrations and CommentariesTM is a blend of modular education through a text-and-audio format, including a video animation, to provide an overview of current and emerging treatment strategies for patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML). In this program, hear an expert faculty provide commentary on unmet needs in AML and review a novel therapeutic approach of E-selectin inhibition. The activity is enriched with the use of video animation to illustrate the mechanism of action of e-selection inhibition and its potential role in enhancing currently approved AML therapeutics. This unique format is designed to help clinicians delve into novel therapeutics in the management of AML and to ultimately improve outcomes for their patients with this disease.

Target Audience

This educational activity is directed toward hematologic and medical oncologists involved in the treatment of AML.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:

  • Identify unmet needs in AML and the mechanistic rationale underlying clinical trial evaluation of emerging therapies targeting E-selectin in AML
  • Determine the implications of recent efficacy and safety evidence on E-selectin antagonists in context of evolving treatment paradigms in AML management
  • Identify patients with AML who may benefit from clinical trial participation in studies evaluating emerging strategies in the field of AML care
