Activity Overview

The close association between Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) infection and the upregulation of PD-1 in nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) cells suggests a role for PD-1 inhibition in patients with no radiotherapy option. Combinations of anti–PD-1 agents and chemotherapy as well as adoptive cell immunotherapy are under investigation in managing advanced NPC.

This educational activity is designed to provide participants with an overview of recent advances in immunotherapy strategies in NPC. The written material is supplemented by video clips from an expert in the treatment of these tumors to provide additional context and insight.
