Overview:
Targeted therapy has transformed the management of advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), with a wide range of approvals for different exploitable genomic aberrations. For patients with EGFR mutations, tyrosine kinase inhibitors offer potential benefit along the treatment continuum, including after resection for early-stage disease and as consolidation following definitive chemoradiation therapy for unresectable disease. However, appropriate use of targeted therapy for nonmetastatic, EGFR-mutated NSCLC depends on timely diagnosis, assessment, and molecular testing.
This live, hybrid meeting will showcase the challenges faced by lung cancer specialists in using targeted therapy along the disease continuum. These discussions will use a case-based format to illustrate and highlight the common issues faced by the care team for patients with nonmetastatic, EGFR-mutated NSCLC.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Identify multidisciplinary approaches to properly utilize and interpret molecular testing results for patients with EGFR-mutated NSCLC
- Evaluate recent clinical evidence from studies investigating innovative therapeutic strategies for patients with stage I-III NSCLC receiving EGFR-targeting therapies
- Establish effective individualized care plans to properly incorporate the latest data into the management of patients with stage I-III EGFR-mutated NSCLC
- Determine optimal protocols to identify and mitigate potential treatment-related toxicities from EGFR-targeted therapies for patients with EGFR-mutated NSCLC
