Overview
Recent developments in the management of solid tumors based upon distinct phenotypic and genotypic tumor characteristics are guiding application and sequencing of therapy, personalizing care for patients with cancer. Optimized testing and treatments for early and advanced disease, including chemotherapeutics, targeted therapies, immunotherapies, multimodal and combination strategies continue to improve clinical outcomes for patients. The volume and pace of advancements in oncology research and therapeutics has been staggering.
This 1-day, interactive program will take place prior to the ACCC 40th National Oncology Conference, and will offer practical analyses of the critical knowledge needed to safely and effectively integrate novel strategies into clinical practice. The program will include brief didactic presentations followed by practical case-based discussions of patients and particular challenges pertinent to community cancer centers. Participants will be given the opportunity to review patient scenarios, integrate relevant evidence into real-world diagnosis and treatment, and compare practices with those of experts and peers.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:
- Examine tumor biomarkers in the context of their prognostic or predictive value
- Summarize efficacy findings from recent trials that evaluated novel therapeutic strategies for cancer management
- Familiarize with the treatment-related toxicities observed in recent trials that evaluated novel approaches for cancer treatment
- Determine the potential impact of recent clinical trial findings on the evolving treatment paradigms for patients with cancer
Benefits of Attending
- Engage with your peers to discuss challenging cases and best practices for treating patients with cancer
- Hear how the experts think through challenging cases from the community of patients with solid tumors and apply the latest evidence
- Improve outcomes for your patients with cancer by incorporating evidence-based biomarkers and individualizing treatment
Hot Topics
- Molecular Testing
- Liquid Biopsy
- Identifying oncogenic mutations
- Interpreting NGS Reports
- Cancer Clinical Trials
- Personalized therapy
