Activity Overview
Immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) is a rare autoimmune disorder characterized by low platelet counts due to immune-mediated destruction and reduced production, which can lead to severe bleeding and a significant decline in quality of life. Beyond physical symptoms, patients often face fatigue, emotional distress, and cognitive challenges. Despite treatment advances, managing ITP, especially in cases resistant to first-line therapy, remains complex, with limited guidance on second-line treatment sequencing. New therapies targeting various immune pathways are expanding options, but shared decision-making remains underutilized in practice. Cases and Conversations™ uses a case-based learning format to help clinicians navigate these evolving strategies, apply evidence-based care, and improve patient outcomes.
