Phil., will be the keynote speaker for the 22nd Annual International Congress on Hematologic Malignancies®: Focus on Leukemias, Lymphomas and Myeloma. During his keynote session, “New Targets, Thoughts and Therapies for Blood Cancers,” Mukherjee will discuss recent advances in immunotherapy for treating hematologic malignancies. He will also present case-based studies that illustrate the advances and challenges of cancer care and provide a brief overview of the future of immunotherapy in conjunction with other treatments.
Mukherjee serves in the department of medicine, division of hematology/oncology, at Columbia University Medical Center (CUMC), and is a graduate of Stanford University, University of Oxford and Harvard Medical School. He is the author of the #1 New York Times bestseller, “The Gene: An Intimate History, and the winner of the 2011 Pulitzer Prize for his book, The Emperor of All Maladies: A Biography of Cancer.” As a cancer physician at CUMC, his primary areas of expertise include myelodysplastic syndrome, myeloma and lymphoma. He has also published articles in Nature, The New York Times, The New Yorker and The New Republic.
The 22nd Annual International Congress on Hematologic Malignancies®: Focus on Leukemias, Lymphomas and Myeloma is an educational event intended for community-based hematologists and medical oncologists, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, and health care professionals interested in the treatment of hematologic malignancies.
