HER2 has emerged as an important target for a subgroup of upper GI cancers expressing high cell surface levels of the protein. Several treatment approaches have been approved for these cancers, necessitating careful selection of therapy based on individual patient characteristics and careful evaluation of the supporting evidence. This series of podcasts focuses on the role of HER2 testing and exploitation in biliary tract cancers and gastroesophageal adenocarcinomas, with emphasis on evidence supporting the use of novel therapeutics approaches for these patients, as well as management of the adverse events.
