Activity Overview

This video-based activity is designed for health care professionals to explore the diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer through a unique perspective that puts the patient voice front and center. In addition to expert faculty who will discuss implementation of current and emerging treatment options in the management of ovarian cancer, a patient and their caregiver will lend their expertise by sharing their personal journey of living with ovarian cancer. The activity focuses on steps along the continuum of care: screening, diagnosis and referral to initiation of treatment, treatment during disease progression, eligibility and enrollment in clinical trials, and the shared decision-making that occurs along the way.

Target Audience

This educational activity is directed toward medical oncologists, gynecologic oncologists, surgical oncologists, nurse practitioners (NPs), nurses, and physician assistants (PAs) involved in the treatment and management of patients with ovarian cancer. Pharmacists, researchers, fellows, and other health care professionals interested in the treatment of ovarian cancer may also participate.

Upon successful completion of this educational activity, you should be better prepared to:

  • Compare and contrast key efficacy and safety data from clinical trials that have evaluated PARP inhibitors and other therapeutic options for ovarian cancer management
  • Develop practical strategies to identify and mitigate adverse events associated with the use of emerging therapeutic options for patients with ovarian cancer
  • Integrate essential skills that promote effective continuity, communication, and coordination of care between providers and patients/caregivers in the management of ovarian cancer
