Activity Overview

Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a relentlessly progressive neurodegenerative disorder that affects upper and lower motor neurons, causing muscle weakness and eventually resulting in paralysis and death. This review features Lora L. Clawson, MSN, CRNP, and Terry D. Heiman-Patterson, MD, who provide a disease overview, with a focus on current treatments, and the importance of a comprehensive multidisciplinary care approach to the care of patients with ALS.

Target Audience

This educational program is directed toward neurologists, internists, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), such as primary care providers, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
