Activity Overview

Gastrointestinal cancer treatment is complex because of tumor heterogeneity. Optimized management requires a high level of multidisciplinary cooperation and multimodality treatment regimens when appropriate. This online CME-certified educational activity, based on the content presented at the 5th Annual School of Gastrointestinal Oncology (SOGO)™, consists of a series of video excerpts from Andrea Cercek, MD; Michael A. Choti, MD; Anthony El-Khoueiry, MD; Aiwu Ruth He, MD, PhD; Rajesh Ramanathan, MD; and Manish A. Shah, MD. These renowned experts provide insights into recent clinical data with a focus on advances in cholangiocarcinoma, esophagogastric cancer, hepatocellular carcinoma, and rectal cancer. Target Audience

This educational activity is directed toward oncologists, gastroenterologists, surgeons, and pathologists involved in the treatment and management of patients with gastrointestinal (GI) cancers. Nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, investigators, and other healthcare professionals interested in the treatment of GI malignancies may also participate.

  • Outline the important biomarkers and prognostic factors that influence risk assessment and clinical decision making in the management of patients with GI malignancies
