Community Practice Connections™: Evolutions in the Treatment and Management of Advanced Cervical Cancer: Leveraging the Immunosuppressive Microenvironment, Addressing Ongoing Clinical Needs

Release Date: June 30, 2019
Expiration Date: June 30, 2020
Media: Internet - based

Activity Overview

Although cervical cancer is highly treatable and associated with high rates of positive clinical outcomes when detected early enough, many cases are not detected until they have reached an advanced stage. The management of patients with advanced/metastatic disease remains an important clinical challenge. Pursuit of treatment options that may help to improve clinical efficacy and limit treatment-associated adverse events is an active area of investigation, with several options showing promise in recent studies. The understanding of the mechanisms underlying the development of cervical cancer has helped to inform new approaches to its treatment, which may improve outcomes for your patients. Keeping up with these advancements can be a challenging goal for busy clinicians, as can development of a thorough understanding of potential applications of new data from trials evaluating therapeutic approaches for advanced cervical cancer. Through a series of cases, descriptive text, interview video clips, and self-assessment questions, the expert faculty of this online activity address multiple clinical challenges and key topics pertaining to the management of cervical cancer in the era of immunotherapy.

Benefits of Participating

  • Gain insights into recent developments in the management of advanced cervical cancers
  • Increase your understanding of the clinical relevance of tumor characterization and the tumor microenvironment
  • Improve your awareness of ongoing clinical trials that may change the treatment paradigm for your patients with these cancers
