Community Practice Connections™: CAR T Preconference Workshop at the PER® Winter Hematology® Meeting consists of a series of short summaries of clinical data and concise video interviews with leading experts in chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy for patients with hematologic malignancies. The video interviews provide expert perspectives on clinical data and address questions commonly faced in the community oncology practice setting.

Target Audience

This educational activity is directed toward community-based hematologists and medical oncologists, as well as fellows involved in the treatment and management of patients with hematologic malignancies. Nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, researchers, and other health care professionals interested in the treatment of hematologic malignancies may also participate.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:

  • Explain the mechanism of action and specificities of CAR T cells as living therapeutics
  • Assess clinical data from landmark trials evaluating CAR T-cell therapies in hematologic malignancies
  • Implement proactive strategies to recognize and minimize the impact of CAR T-cell–related toxicities on patients with hematologic tumors
  • Evaluate the therapeutic implications of emerging clinical data on CAR T-cell therapies within the context of evolving treatment paradigms for hematologic cancers
