Activity Overview

This is an online, on-demand video program designed to deliver concise, modular education. In these modules, Erin D. Michos, MD, MHS, and Nihar Desai, MD, MPH, discuss the correlation between lipids and the risk of ASCVD, and review current and emerging therapies to reduce LDL. Several case studies will be presented to illustrate how patients with dyslipidemia can be effectively managed, with expert faculty providing clinical pearls along the way.

Target Audience

This educational activity is directed toward cardiologists, family medicine physicians, specialty NPs, PAs, RNs and other HCPS involved in the care of dyslipidemia.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:

  • Describe the distinct lipid metabolism pathways targeted by lipid-lowering agents
  • Analyze the safety and efficacy data of newer lipid-lowering therapies in patients who have not achieved lipid-management goals with statins
  • Apply evidence-based strategies to individualize lipid-lowering treatment plans for patients with persistent low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) elevation
  • Formulate actionable solutions to optimize the utilization of non-statin treatments in clinical practice for the management of dyslipidemia and/or atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease (ASCVD)
