Virtual Tumor Board®: Integrating Emerging Testing Methodologies Into Optimal Treatment Planning in GI Cancers

Virtual Tumor Board®: Integrating Emerging Testing Methodologies Into Optimal Treatment Planning in GI Cancers

Thursday, April 15, 2021

Live, Interactive Webcast!

7:00 PM to 8:30 PM EST

Overview

Optimal management of gastrointestinal (GI) cancer today relies on acquiring substantial information relating to the molecular status of tumors in an effort to identify aberrations that can help select treatment for individual patients. However, the rapid expansion of therapeutic targets and technologies for testing place a significant burden on clinicians in terms of keeping pace with new developments and best practices.

This live virtual tumor board webcast is specifically designed to meet the needs of busy clinicians who treat patients with GI cancers by providing the framework through which these tumors should be tested. Following presentations on current molecular targets and emerging technologies for molecular testing, the faculty will discuss a series of cases constructed to highlight the challenges and solutions with respect to testing in patients with GI cancers.

Benefits of Attending

  • Get expert insight into the emerging use of liquid biopsy in GI cancers
  • Learn about optimal molecular tests for patients with GI cancers
  • See how the experts plan on using new molecular testing technologies in the future
  • Find out how to apply new testing strategies in patient cases

Target Audience

This educational activity is directed toward pathologists, medical oncologists, and other health care professionals interested in the treatment of GI cancer.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Outline key biomarkers and molecular testing that guide treatment decision-making in GI cancer management
  • Assess emerging liquid biopsy approaches in GI cancer settings that allow for screening, treatment monitoring, and prediction of relapse
  • Evaluate safety and efficacy data for emerging biomarker- and molecular-testing–guided treatment options in GI cancer settings
  • Integrate testing strategies that match patients to particular treatment strategies in GI cancer case management scenarios

Hot Topics

  • Liquid biopsy
  • New actionable mutations in GI cancer
  • Use of circulating tumor DNA to predict outcomes
  • Novel targeted therapy approaches to GI cancer
