Live Video Webcast: Cancer Care in the COVID-19 Era: Assessing the Impact of Racial and Ethnic Disparities

Thursday, November 19, 2020
8:00 PM – 9:30 PM EST
Live, Interactive Virtual Webcast!
Overview
Research data from the National Cancer Institute has shown that disparities in cancer care have always existed among patients with cancer belonging to ethnic/racial minority populations. Recent early data clearly points towards worse outcomes, including higher mortality rates in Black and Hispanic patients with cancer and COVID-19 infection.
Cancer Care in the COVID-19 Era: Assessing the Impact of Racial and Ethnic Disparities is a virtual webcast that is designed to aid oncology health care professionals in identifying the correlations between racial and ethnic minority populations with cancer and severity of COVID-19 disease. This activity will also help learners recognize the disparities in care in racial and ethnic minority populations with cancer in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, and will assist them in implementing strategies to monitor and mitigate the impact of COVID-19 in racial and ethnic minority populations with cancer.
