1st Annual Precision Medicine Symposium: an Illustrated Tumor Board

1st Annual Precision Medicine Symposium: an Illustrated Tumor Board

May 9 - 10, 2019
New York, NY

This meeting is a pan-tumor discussion of major solid and liquid tumors, including lung cancers, breast cancers, GI cancers, GU cancers, skin cancers, and hematologic malignancies, along with several precision-medicine-style keynote lectures. The program will emphasize the role of advanced genetic panel testing, and how it can inform use of targeted therapies across solid tumors to deliver state-of-the-art care. By focusing on the contemporary use of next-generation sequencing, liquid biopsy, and cytogenetic testing across malignancies, we can drive tumor-agnostic indications as well as biomarker-based use of checkpoint inhibitors across malignancies. The meeting will focus on how to best leverage the actionable targets that drive clinical decision-making, keeping a narrow focus on what you need to know to advance the care of your patients.

Target Audience:

This educational activity is directed toward pathologists and oncologists, as well as nurses and fellows, involved in the treatment and management of patients with cancers. Physician assistants, pharmacists, researchers, and other healthcare professionals may also participate.

Learning Objectives:

Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:

  1. Examine clinical studies in common malignancies and examine relevant biomarkers to select patients for therapy
  2. Utilize tumor pathology assessment reports to enable evidence-based treatment of malignancies
  3. Optimize diagnosis and management of malignancies through multidisciplinary cooperation
  4. Describe the current and evolving role of genomic assays in cancer management
  5. Identify potential applications of liquid biopsy in the assessment of commonly encountered malignancies
