Overview

The development of molecular-targeted agents and immune-stimulating molecules has transformed the management of patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC). To help you best integrate these new treatments while minimizing therapy-related adverse events, we are pleased to offer you Nursing Essentials: Optimized Care Strategies for the Patient With Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma, an expert forum led by oncology nurses for nursing professionals. This program will provide you with a knowledge of the biology underpinning new therapies, clinical data leading to approvals, and how to mitigate and manage adverse events associated with targeted therapies and immunotherapy. An extended, case-based discussion will illustrate how to apply new standards of care to your practice. Be sure to join us for this exciting discussion of new therapies for your patients with RCC.

Target Audience

This educational program is directed toward nurse practitioners, nurses, and physicians with an interest in the treatment of renal cell carcinoma. Other healthcare professionals with an interest in treatment of renal cell carcinoma are invited to participate.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Report the rationale underlying the use of targeted agents and immunotherapies, as single agents and in combination, for advanced RCC
  • Discuss recent evidence concerning the use of state-of-the art strategies used to treat patients with RCC
  • Apply best practices to proactively monitor for, recognize, and mitigate treatment-related toxicities related to targeted therapies and immunotherapies used to treat advanced RCC
  • Explain factors that influence individualized advanced RCC treatment planning in the context of counseling strategies that may be utilized in these care settings
