Overview

Oncology Best Practice™ is a nationwide series of live, regional activities held in locations across the US deemed to have the highest educational need. This exciting new series will explore the current and future applications of digital technologies for the medical management of patients with cancer. These technologies offer the promise of solutions for clinical decision support in a variety of areas, from improved ways to individualize diagnosis and treatment; methods to streamline patient data collection, storage, presentation, and analysis; earlier identification of appropriate clinical trials for individual patients; personalizing literature searches based on individual patient and disease characteristics; workflow management systems; tools to reduce clinical errors; and technologies to help optimize interdisciplinary collaboration. This presentation will also focus on identifying potential barriers for adoption and implementation of these technologies. The activity will use a variety of teaching modalities, including didactic presentation of new data, clinical scenarios exploring how these digital solutions may improve patient care, and peer-to-peer and peer-to-expert interaction.
