Overview of the Managing Postoperative Pain Satellite Symposium

This interactive, CME satellite symposium to the 37th Annual Miami Breast Cancer Conference® will focus on multimodal management of pain in patients with breast cancer and will include a discussion of options for pain control across the continuum of surgical care. Types of pain and mechanisms of action of control strategies will be considered, including a discussion of appropriate opioid and non-opioid analgesic use in the era of prescription drug abuse. The interactive panel will emphasize multidisciplinary coordination and will include various members of the care team, including the surgical oncologist and anesthesiologist. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions to the faculty experts and to participate in an interactive workshop designed to illustrate best practices in decision making in pain management.
