This interactive, continuing medical education (CME) satellite symposium to the 37th Annual Miami Breast Cancer Conference® will feature a mix of didactic presentations and case-based discussions. Topics to be addressed by prominent faculty experts in the field will focus on introducing immunotherapy into treatment plans for patients with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and will include discussion of recently reported and emerging data on immunotherapy for early-stage and advanced/metastatic TNBC, the role of biomarker testing and immune-related adverse event management, and best practices for making critical clinical decisions for these patients.

Target Audience

This activity is directed toward medical and surgical oncologists who treat patients with breast cancer. Fellows, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pathologists, radiation oncologists, and other healthcare professionals involved in the management of patients with breast cancer are also invited to participate.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:

  • Analyze the rationale for use of immunotherapies in patients with metastatic TNBC
  • Describe the results of recent clinical trials evaluating single-agent and combination immunotherapies
  • Assess the value of emerging predictive biomarkers and identification of patients who may be candidates for treatment with immune checkpoint inhibition
  • Describe best practices for monitoring, recognizing, and mitigating immune-related adverse events
