Live, Interactive Webcast

11:00 AM – 1:00 PM CDT

Overview

The global incidence of developing shingles is 25%-30% and increases with age. While of short duration, postresolution complications and the risk of transmitting the varicella zoster virus to cause chicken pox in household contacts add to the disease burden. The need for recognition of relevant primary risk factors is significant in primary care to best provide therapeutic plans based on patient age, comorbidities, and vaccination options.

During this Medical Crossfire®, a multidisciplinary panel will discuss the burden of shingles and then review the efficacy data of live and recombinant vaccines. Patient case discussions will be used to exemplify the range of factors to consider for vaccine administration and safety.

Benefits of Attending

  • Counsel your patients on the implications of herpes zoster infection
  • Gain up-to-date knowledge on available shingles vaccines
  • Assess patient risks to provide optimal vaccination plans
