Live, Interactive Webcast

Scientific Session: 6:00 - 8:00 PM CDT

Human papillomavirus (HPV) is a sexually transmitted infection that can lead to oropharyngeal and anogenital disease in both sexes. High-risk genotypes of HPV are the predominant cause of cervical and anal cancers. Vaccination can protect patients from this infection and its associated cancers; however, changes in vaccination recommendations and controversy surrounding the vaccine have created resistance to HPV vaccination by patients and some health care providers.

During this satellite symposium, expert faculty will discuss the burden of HPV-related diseases, the benefits of vaccination, and methods to reduce the barriers to HPV vaccine acceptance. The activity will include interactive clinical cases, reinforcing the topics covered in the program.

Benefits of Attending

  • Gain knowledge about the disease burden caused by HPV and how it affects patients
  • Identify which patients are candidates for HPV vaccination
  • Assist patients in making an informed decision about receiving HPV vaccination
  • Address patient concerns with HPV vaccination in an evidence-based manner
