Exploring Novel Antibody-Based Treatments for Relapsed/Refractory Multiple Myeloma: Program Overview

Although patients with newly diagnosed multiple myeloma (MM) usually respond to treatment with cytotoxic agents, relapse is expected, and the disease is not considered to be curable with current pharmacologic strategies. In recent years, the treatment landscape for patients with relapsed/refractory disease has evolved rapidly due to an enhanced understanding of tumor biology and the heterogeneous nature of the disease. As new information emerges, clinicians are frequently unsure of how to apply it to their practices. Practicing clinicians often manage multiple tumor types, and thus can benefit from experts in individual tumor fields, such as MM, who can synthesize and interpret new data.

Exploring Novel Antibody-Based Treatments for Relapsed/Refractory Multiple Myeloma: How the Experts Think and Treat is a virtual symposium that will provide insights from experts on the topic in the form of didactic sessions and multidisciplinary case discussions. This activity will help health care professionals maintain a state-of-the-art clinical practice by providing updates on the latest clinical data on novel monoclonal antibody therapies in MM, and offering expert guidance on sequencing therapies and optimizing multidisciplinary management of HCC.

Target Audience: HCPs Who Treat Multiple Myeloma

This educational activity is directed toward medical oncologists and hematologists who treat patients with MM. Fellows, nurses, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other health care professionals interested in the management of patients with MM are also invited to participate.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Differentiate the mechanism of action, safety, and efficacy profiles of established and novel monoclonal antibodies for the treatment of MM
  • Interpret the results of recent combination trials using monoclonal antibodies in relapsed/refractory MM and their applications to practice
  • Understand how to best select therapies for relapsed/refractory MM based on patient risk stratification, prior therapeutics regimens, and other clinical considerations
