Bladder Cancer Playbook for Urologists: Practical Application of Current and Emerging Strategies to Optimize Patient Outcomes

Bladder Cancer Playbook for Urologists: Practical Application of Current and Emerging Strategies to Optimize Patient Outcomes

Thursday, June 4th, 2020

Live Webcast: 8:00 PM – 10:00 PM ET

Overview

The treatment landscape of bladder cancer continues to progress with advances in immuno-oncology and targeted therapy strategies, and new clinical data continues to impact all stages of bladder cancer with the use of single-agent and combination immunotherapy approaches. In addition, novel agents that address bladder cancer with specific genomic alterations are being explored, as well as therapeutic options for disease that is refractory to immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy.

This live webcast features a panel of experts who will address the application of immune-based and targeted agent approaches through presentations and discussions of the most recent clinical data for the treatment of early and advanced bladder cancer. Practical patient case scenarios will highlight treatment decisions in various settings of bladder cancer and will address adverse event management of immunotherapy and targeted agents, the importance of multidisciplinary care, and future directions in the field of bladder cancer.

Benefits of Attending

  • Hear experts talk about new therapies
  • Gain insights regarding immune-related adverse events
  • Learn about novel single-agent and combination strategies
  • Be in the know of the treatment pipeline

Target Audience

This educational program is directed toward urologists, oncologists, and researchers interested in the treatment of bladder cancers. Nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, and other health care professionals involved in the treatment and management of patients with bladder cancers will be invited to participate.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the biologic rationale for using immune-based and targeted therapy approaches to treat bladder cancer
  • Evaluate data from pivotal clinical trials of immunotherapies, signaling inhibitors, and other emerging agents for bladder cancer
  • Discuss novel agents and combinatorial approaches under investigation for the treatment of bladder cancer across multiple settings, including advanced/metastatic, muscle-invasive, and non–muscle-invasive disease
  • Consider practice-changing evidence from clinical trials of immunotherapies, cytotoxic agents, and targeted therapies during multidisciplinary, team-based care planning for patients with bladder cancer
  • Outline frequent and less common toxicities associated with newer agents used in the treatment of bladder cancer, including immunotherapies and targeted agents, and best practices for their mitigation and management
