Recent Pathophysiological Findings in Pustular Psoriasis: Program Overview

Pustular psoriasis outbreaks can be severe and life-threatening, but early diagnosis is hindered by its rarity, heterogeneous presentation, and lack of consistent classification. Furthermore, at present there are no standard therapies and only limited evidence-based guidance with available agents. However, recent clinical, histological, and genetic evidence has provided new insights into the pathophysiology of pustular psoriasis, allowing for new therapeutic targets with novel treatments. During this live Medical Crossfire®, a multidisciplinary panel of experts will share their insights into diagnosis and disease severity assessment, possible pathophysiological pathways involved in the development of the disease, the clinical profiles and mechanisms of action of available, and emerging agents for the treatment of adults with pustular psoriasis. Throughout the program, there will be a focus on the patient’s perspective to individualize disease management and education for improved outcomes and quality of life. Participants will be encouraged to interact with the panel through audience response technology.

Benefits of Participating in This Live Event, Hosted by PER®

Target Audience

This live activity is intended for attendees of the 2020 AAD Annual Meeting, including dermatologists, NPs, and PAs involved in the care and treatment of patients with pustular psoriasis.

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this activity, you should be better prepared to:

  • Identify different types of pustular psoriasis based on symptom recognition and accurate assessment of disease severity
  • Discuss recent pathophysiological findings in pustular psoriasis to differentiate from plaque psoriasis
  • Demonstrate increased knowledge of clinical data on emerging biologic therapies targeting the inflammatory pathway for the treatment of pustular psoriasis
