14th International Lung Cancer Congress® (2013)

Hyatt Regency Huntington Beach
Huntington Beach, CA
July 25-27, 2013
PER has chosen to partner with the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) and the Bonnie J. Addario Lung Cancer Foundation (BJALCF) for the 14th Annual International Lung Cancer Congress.
IASLC is the only global organization dedicated to the study of lung cancer. Founded in 1972, the association's membership includes more than 3,000 lung cancer specialists in 80 countries. IASLC members work to enhance the understanding of lung cancer among scientists, members of the medical community and the public.
BJALCF is the first international collaborative entity of its kind, raising over $6 million for Lung Cancer research. BJALCF’s focus is on projects promising progress through early detection, genetic testing, and drug discovery with patient-focused outcomes. Their ultimate goal is to increase the low survival rate of lung cancer by becoming the largest source of non-profit funding dedicated to turning lung cancer into a manageable chronic disease. Since 2008, BJALCF has sponsored a key-note address and provided overall support of the International Lung Cancer Congress.
Huntington Beach, CA
July 25-27, 2013
Overview
The goal of the 14th International Lung Cancer Congress® is to provide physicians with practical information regarding tobacco cessation, lung cancer staging, the latest clinical data impacting the treatment of lung cancer, and novel agents and strategies that will shape the future of lung cancer therapy. The importance of personalized therapy will be emphasized, followed by other current topics of interest. State-of-the-art treatment for non–small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC) by stage, SCLC, and mesothelioma will be discussed. Didactic lectures and case-based panel discussions will be used to reinforce current standards and to present emerging clinical data. Panel discussions, multidisciplinary tumor boards, and question-and-answer sessions will allow the faculty to share their personal experiences and opinions on specific clinical scenarios and ongoing controversies in the treatment of lung cancer. Furthermore, a recurring session will highlight clinical research activity of Cooperative Groups in the United States, Europe, and Asia. This will provide invaluable education to the practicing physician to increase their knowledge and improve their performance in managing patients with lung cancer.Target Audience

Fellows, nurse practitioners, nurses, physician assistants, pharmacists, researchers and other healthcare professionals interested in the treatment of lung cancer are also invited to attend.Topics
