Physicians' Education Resource®, LLC (PER) is dedicated to advancing cancer care through professional education.

Accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), PER is the educational resource of choice for live and online activities focusing on oncology and hematology. Based on identified needs and practice gaps, PER provides high-quality, evidence based activities featuring leading national and international faculty with a focus on practice changing advances and standards of care in treatment and disease management. Activities may also include topics on emerging strategies currently under investigation, supportive care, diagnosis and staging, prevention, screening and early detection, and practice management.
 
PER plans, develops, implements, and evaluates educational opportunities incorporating instructional design with principles of adult learning including multi-day congresses, one day update meetings, traditional dinner meetings, online case discussions, journal clubs, expert consultations, and faculty dialogs. These well-known and respected activities enable health care professionals to remain current and responsive to advances in medical care for cancer patients, from diagnosis through treatment, with the ultimate goal of improving patient outcomes.
 
PER serves the oncology health care community, including physicians, fellows, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, nurses, pharmacists, and researchers.

Accreditation
At Physicians' Education Resource®, LLC (PER), our comprehensive activities are designed utilizing adult education principles to ensure that the learning objectives and outcomes are identified, measured, and achieved.

PER is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

PER maintains complete responsibility and control over all content, quality, and scientific integrity of its educational activities and plans, develops, implements, and evaluates them in accordance with the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)’s Essential Areas and Elements, Policies and Standards for Commercial SupportSM, as well as guidelines set forth by the American Medical Association (AMA), US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), US Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG), Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America (PhRMA) and the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed).

Disclosure Policy

It is the policy of PER to ensure balance, independence, objectivity, and scientific rigor in all of its educational activities.

In accordance with ACCME guidelines, PER requires everyone who is in a position to control the content of an educational activity, including spouses/partners, to disclose all relevant financial relationships with any commercial interest. PER has implemented mechanisms to identify and resolve all conflicts of interest prior to start of each activity.

Participants are notified prior to the activity of any relationship or absence of a relationship between faculty and commercial interests. The privacy of our users on the Internet is of the utmost importance to us. Because PER does gather certain types of information about our users, we feel that you should completely understand the conditions and terms surrounding the gathering and use of information about those using our sites and services. This Privacy Policy Statement divulges what information we gather, how we use it, and how to correct or change it. In the policy, the pronouns "you" and "your" are used to refer to the end user, while "we," "us" and "our" are used to refer to PER.

By accessing the PER website, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy Statement. 1. Collecting Information
PER gathers and tracks information/data that users provide through registration on our site. In addition to this gathering of information by the registration of users and in an effort to improve our site, PER also gathers information through tracking systems depending on the service being used by you. The tracking systems include deriving data by tallying page views throughout our site and capturing information on the type of browser being used to view the site, tracking what pages you have visited while on the site, and tracking what computers respond to a PER survey. This information enables us to better provide educational programming and to respond to our users' needs and is gathered solely on an aggregate basis. PER does not divulge any personal information about an individual user to any third party.

PER may gather information on our users in the following ways:
 
* Registration
We do not collect personally identifiable information from you unless you provide it to us knowingly in connection with an educational activity. For the registration process, PER may require some information, like name, e-mail address, and profession, while other information requested will be voluntary and optional. Information collected in the registration process is never shared with third parties in a personally identifiable way.

* Usage Tracking
PER uses traffic analysis software on our servers to track user traffic patterns throughout our site. PER uses this data to break down overall usage statistics according to IP address, domain name, browser type, and MIME type by reading this information from the data automatically sent by the browser whenever a web page is requested.

* Cookies
A cookie is a small text file that resides only on your own computer and that can be accessed only by the server that originally created the cookie. A cookie cannot store or send back any information to PER that you have not specifically and voluntarily provided while on a PER site, or that is not among the information mentioned above that is contained in every user's browser (i.e., domain name, browser type). We use cookies only so that we may tally the number of unique users who visit our site, and potentially to permit greater personalization of the site to your preferences and specifications. Even when you may have provided to PER information that is stored in a cookie on your computer, PER will not share personally identifiable information about you to third parties.

2. Sharing of the information
PER does not share information about an individual user identity with any third party except as necessary to comply with applicable legal requirements. Please note that PER does not control the practices of our educational partners or sister organizations. 3. "No-spam" policy
Your e-mail address will not be sold to a third party if you register to receive information about our certified medical education offerings or educational surveys or if you participate in an educational activity on our site.

4. Delete/deactivate policy
You may request to have your personal information removed from PER’s databases by sending a request via e-mail to info@gotoper.com, including your first and last names and e-mail address with which you originally registered. Changes or corrections to your information may be submitted in the same fashion. Please note that if you have received credit for participating in a certified medical education activity, information collected for the certificate process must remain on file with us as the accredited provider in accordance with governing compliance regulations.

When you register with PER, you are joining an opt-in list, which means you may occasionally receive educational activity announcements or related information, whether it is sent directly by us or by our approved educational partners. DONNA E. SHALALA TO DISCUSS THE FUTURE OF AMERICAN MEDICINE AT THE 30TH ANNUAL MIAMI BREAST CANCER CONFERENCE®
Physicians’ Education Resource Hosts Conference That Explores Integrating New Therapies

Plainsboro, N.J. – March 7, 2013 – University of Miami President and former U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Donna E. Shalala will discuss health care reform and its impact on the future of American medicine at the 30th Annual Miami Breast Cancer Conference®. The conference will take place March 7 through 10 at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach Hotel in Miami Beach, Fla.

Shalala served as secretary of Health and Human Services for eight years under President Bill Clinton, giving her a singular insight into how the coming changes to our health care system will unfold in the medical field. Shalala is the longest-serving Health and Human Services secretary in U.S. history.

Her address on Saturday, March 9, is part of a four-day conference on breast cancer that will attract 1,200 of the world’s top minds in medical, surgical and radiation oncology and this year celebrates its 30th anniversary. The conference is hosted by Physicians’ Education Resource (PER), the go-to source for excellence in continuing medical education. “With so many historic changes in health care on the horizon, I look forward to the opportunity to talk with the leaders of the oncology field,” Shalala said.

The conference will be chaired by Dr. Daniel Osman, a Miami breast cancer surgeon who founded the event in 1983 and has led it every year. During this milestone year, pioneers of innovative approaches will provide insight into the optimal management of patients with breast cancer. Dr. Osman and other thought leaders will give attendees opportunities to interact with the faculty through open discussions, as well as share clinical experiences, solve clinical problems, clarify best practices and discuss well-established and emerging therapeutic opportunities.

This educational program is directed at medical, surgical and radiation oncologists interested in the treatment of patients with breast cancer. Plainsboro, N.J. – Feb. 27, 2013 – Physicians’ Education Resource (PER), the go-to source for excellence in continuing medical education, will host the 6th Annual Interdisciplinary Prostate Cancer Congress® on March 16 at the Crowne Plaza Times Square in New York City. 
 
The 6th Annual Interdisciplinary Prostate Cancer Congress is a day-long meeting that will educate health care professionals on advances in the treatment of patients with prostate cancer. This program is designed to integrate the latest clinical trial data with emerging strategies in order to maximize patient outcomes.
 
The congress will be chaired by Leonard G. Gomella, MD, FACS, and Daniel P. Petrylak, MD. Dr. Gomella is the Bernard W. Godwin Jr. Professor of Prostate Cancer at Jefferson Medical College, the chairman of the department of urology at Jefferson Medical College, and the associate director of the Kimmel Cancer Center in Philadelphia. Dr. Petrylak is the director of prostate and genitourinary cancers and co-director of the signal transduction program at Yale University Cancer Center.
 
Drs. Gomella and Petrylak and other thought leaders will deliver presentations and give attendees opportunities to interact with the faculty through debates and open discussions, as well as share practical experiences, solve clinical problems, clarify best practices and discuss well-established and emerging therapeutic opportunities.
 
This educational congress is directed at medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, surgeons and urologists involved in the treatment and management of patients with prostate cancer.
